Write A Letter!

One of the most powerful ways to make an impact is by sending a hand-written letter.  Politicians are much more impressed by hard copy than by e-mails, because it shows a higher level of effort and thus commitment.

They also respect a personal letter much more than a templated one for the same reason.  The sender clearly cares enough to express their concerns in their own terms, whether it be about noise, air pollution, cost, safety, or property value.

So please support our campaign against the 3rd runway at Heathrow by writing a short letter of protest to the Prime Minister.

If you can send one to the Chancellor too, so much the better.

Just five minutes and a stamp could help save you, your family, and our neighbourhood from a hugely damaging decision, which will be taken before Christmas.

The Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP,

Prime Minister,

The Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP

Chancellor of the Exchequer

While a letter is the ‘gold standard’, it would be better to e-mail rather than not send any message at all, so we’ve provided their e-mail addresses: https://email.number10.gov.uk/ and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

With best wishes,

P.S.  Another powerful way to get your voice heard is to sign our online petition – it’s quick and has impact if we get enough people: https://www.change.org/p/the-prime-minister-and-the-chancellor-of-the-exchequer-no-3rd-runway-at-heathrow
